Last Thursday I was in attendance for a small amature food event called The LA Cupcake Showdown.  It was hosted by buddying girl band, NylonPink, and invited such bake shops as Lil Rae Cakes, Fat Glady's, Doughboy's and Sweet E's to compete for the title of the best cupcake in LA.  They gave out hundreds of free mini cupcakes to sample and in my world giving out Cupcakes is one of the most noble, selfless and kind good deeds one can do.  I'm not a huge cupcake lover, but I'm a frosting addict!  Cupcakes are typically too much dry cake and not enough frosting.  However, that wasn't the case today and there was one cupcake that stood out above the rest.  Not only was this the best cupcake I've ever had but it was maybe one of the best foods I've ever had.

Lil Rae Cakes http://www.jenny-rae.com/, by Jenny Rae, produces an amazing product and not your typical cupcake.  Lil Rae's bakes the most moist of cupcakes and one that is completly coated in harded frosting.  The one that blew my fuckin' miiiiiind!  The Bacon Maple Cupcake.  Yes, I said Bacon Maple.  If this sounds weird to you, you probably don't like chicken and waffles either.  Now open up your mind and think outside the box.  If you've ever dipped bacon in maple syrup then you know there aren't many things in life better, except Unicorns, Blowjobs, Penguins, Saved by the Bell reruns and movies about hot air balloons.
